Florian Je berger is Director of the Franz von Liszt Institute for International Criminal Law and Chair of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, International Criminal Law and Modern Legal History at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. As co-editor of the Journal of International Criminal Justice, he has published numerous articles on issues of German, international and comparative criminal law. Prior to joining Humboldt University, he held the Chair of Criminal Law, International Criminal Law and Modern Legal History at the University of Hamburg, where he was also Vice-Dean. He has been a visiting scholar or professor at the University of Oxford, the University of Ferrara and the University of Naples Frederico II, among others. Gerhard Werle is Professor Emeritus at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where he held the Chair of German and International Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Modern Legal History from 1993 to 2020. He has been a visiting professor at various universities around the world, including Columbia Law School, New York; Kansai University, Osaka; University of Sydney; Technical University of Sydney; University of Cape Town; and University of the Western Cape, Cape Town. He is Director of the German-South African Research Network for Transnational Criminal Justice and was a member of the Working Group on the Introduction of an International Criminal Code of the Federal Ministry of Justice. His work on international criminal law, transitional justice and modern legal history has been published in many languages.
