Family Lawyers Whangarei Legal Aid

I became a sole practitioner in September 2016 and have continued to work on my passion as a family lawyer in the aforementioned areas of law, taking instructions regarding relational property matters and wills. I receive family court appointments as a child lawyer and am an accredited mediator. Each community law centre operates differently – some give legal advice over the phone, others run walk-in legal clinics, and some ask you to make an appointment in advance. Your lawyer is the person who represents you and gives you legal advice. You can spend a lot of time with them. Before choosing your lawyer, here are some tips to help you and your lawyer have a good working relationship: You may simply need advice or representation to reach an amicable settlement. However, if a negotiated solution is not possible or appropriate in your case, our lawyers can provide solid representation in legal proceedings. Legal problems can be serious and frightening, and for many people, lawyers are completely invaluable. But everyone has the right to high-quality legal aid – that is where Community law comes in. A relationship agreement can help you be sure what will happen to your assets when your relationship ends. The Property (Relationships) Act 1976 sets out how ownership of the relationship will be divided when you separate. But a couple can agree to each other in a different way of distributing goods if they wish. If you are thinking about entering into a relationship agreement, sometimes referred to as a “subcontracting agreement,” or if your relationship has ended and ownership issues need to be resolved, contact one of our real estate lawyers today.

Community law has some of the best lawyers in the country, and we are free. We can also help you manage your legal affairs in a way that your interests and family`s needs are better served in the future. We offer free personal legal aid to people who don`t have a lot of money – for example, if you`re receiving a benefit or have a low income. Some lawyers answer questions about legal aid for free, but you should always discuss them with them first. Always check that the lawyer you are talking to is providing legal assistance and can be in court if necessary. After contacting your local community law centre, talk to a lawyer who is right for you and your legal problem. These situations can be stressful, so it`s important to have a lawyer who listens carefully, provides reliable legal advice, and helps you achieve a positive outcome.

Lawyers who work in community law and volunteer for this law have a great deal of experience and a strong sense of social justice. They are used to all kinds of legal issues. They understand the importance of listening first and then helping you enforce your rights and find an appropriate solution. Whether you`re struggling to care for or share your children, having trouble coping with WINZ, fines or debts, being sued, or dealing with another legal issue, the first and most important step is often to ask for help. We can also represent you in legal proceedings if necessary. A separation is a difficult time for everyone involved, especially when it comes to child custody. A cooperative approach to childcare and contact is usually best for everyone. That`s why our lawyers work with you, often in mediation, to find a solution without going to court. However, sometimes it is necessary to go to court, and our extensive custody experience can help you decide when a court proceeding is appropriate, but also when other measures are preferable. This passion was developed during my studies at the University of Auckland, where I completed Law (LLB) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with specialisations in Maori (language, culture and history), child psychology and political science. After graduate studies, I worked for 2 years as a lawyer for the Ministry of Children, Oranga Tamariki in the Whangarei office. I then worked at Wills Westenra Lawyers Ltd for about 8 years and dealt primarily with family justice matters related to domestic violence, child custody, adoption, assisted reproductive technology, personal property protection, mental health and procedures with Oranga Tamariki. Depending on your local Community Law Centre, you will see a lawyer who has experience in a particular field (such as employment law or criminal law) or a lawyer with whom you may feel more comfortable (such as a Maori lawyer).

Your lawyer or clerk will help you find the best way to move forward with you. Depending on your situation, we may be able to help you with more intensive and ongoing advocacy.
