Absolutely appalling service appointed by Halifax BS Optima Legal. Refusing to accept an ID3 land registration form (identity verification) that is required to waive a fee on my daughter`s property for a loan we have provided and for which they wish to repay us and must waive that fee to allow for a Halifax BS mortgage. The Land Registry has confirmed in writing that Form ID3 must be used because we are not legally represented, act as individuals and because according to government regulations. All they are waiting for is a withdrawal statement that the company sent out 10 days ago, and I received one in the mail. But my portal has not been updated. I asked them to make a net worth and mortgage transfer on my property, it took over 4 months instead of the planned 4-6 weeks! The only reason I managed to close before my mortgage offer expired was because I was spamming the portal mailbox with 60 messages a day.

I downloaded all my documents on time, but they don`t do anything with them unless you pursue them. They would ignore messages on the portal for weeks and refuse to take calls, as others have also written in reviews. If they answered on the portal, the matter still wouldn`t really progress, they would find general excuses, and ignore my questions about what the status quo is. I had to remind them that this was not a favor they had done me, but actually a service I paid for, so I don`t expect to wait 3 weeks for a reply to a message. I`m a pretty close person, but after the experience I had with Optima, I would recommend spending more money and hiring a competent lawyer instead. If you have the same problems, the only thing I can suggest is to notify them relentlessly and be a nuisance, because they certainly will not work on the matter if they are left to their own devices. Horrible company we went with as we thought if our mortgage provider used them, they must be good enough. How can we be wrong? The remortgage process took more than 3 months. Although they returned all the documents they needed, there was silence. Do not try to call them as they will put you on hold for more than an hour and then the connection will be lost.

This happened several times and emails via their secure website went unanswered. In the end, the mortgage triggered a complaint and oddly enough, we received an email the same day and things started to happen. The worst part, aside from the lack of communication and the ridiculous time it took, is that mortgage rates have gone up every month. Oh and we paid for this “service”. Avoid at all costs – better pay more and go elsewhere. Incredibly slow, takes days to read a message, and then always quotes 3-5 business days to review files – which they can`t do even then. Phone calls and messages for hunting have no effect. The delays in the “file check” cost me £100 in interest payments to the previous lender on several occasions.

It`s another month, at least I`m paying over £500 for a mortgage whose interest rates are rising almost every month. Also, the person I spoke to on the phone today, we couldn`t understand each other – and I don`t think she had a clue what she was doing seemed nice enough, but with customer service like this, it`s shocking. I`m really worried and worried now that something as important as a mortgage is in their hands. They also do not respond to messages on the portal. 2 months are now pending the mortgage. They had everything they needed, but sat on it until the redemption numbers ran out. 3 times the exchange numbers were sent and kept sitting down until they came out again! No completion date has yet !!! Evil lawyers for something as quick and easy as a mortgage.

Incompetent and unprofessional service. It`s another month before they say they`re getting new redemption numbers (but they`ve actually had them for weeks, but they`ve sat on them). The other figure of redemption will come out and go around in circles in a circle where we will go… completely stressed and I have PTSD!!! Stressed and angry beyond words. The whole experience from start to finish seemed less and went very well, lots of updates. Excellent service. As part of my debt restructuring at LLoyds Bank, I was automatically assigned to Optima. Little did I know that they would let things drag on forever and that there would be almost no communication. Your online portal is not efficient because it relies heavily on standard messages and replies can be expected within 2-3 weeks (even a standard message) or not at all. The mortgage took more than 3 months and Optima was still unable to provide an estimate of the closing date. I understand that unexpected complications may arise, but at least there should be transparent and clear communication. Due to the delays, I had to cancel the entire process and resort to my current mortgage provider and pay a higher interest rate at the last minute.

It was an incredibly stressful experience that could be easily avoided with clear communication. The “free service” is now much more expensive. I wish I had chosen my own lawyer from the beginning. Why does a company as prolific as Barclays use this incompetent team? There are no words to describe the shocking service I received. My simple Halifax mortgage to Barclays was not completed on time and is still far from it, even though they have weeks and weeks to go. They say they are waiting for a response from your lawyer to save even more time. Absolute size of time and energy.
